How Do You Unlock Act 2 in Death Must Die?

Act 2 has been in added to Death Must Die a few months ago in a patch. This new act has our heroes fighting through an endless desert, all in their quest to stop death. You get to fight new minions, battle new bosses, and discover new powerful items. But it is not readily clear how you gain access to Act 2. How do you unlock Act 2 in Death Must Die? Well there are a few small steps you must complete first.

Accessing Act 2

In order to beat Act 2, you must defeat the endboss in Act 1. That’s right, players will need to defeat The Baron, who spawns 20 in game minutes into the run. The Baron can be a tough fight for ill prepared players, so make sure you’ve got a solid build. Stay calm, and watch out for his one weird death snake attack, and you should emerge victorious. Once you defeat The Baron, your run will end and you will be teleported back to camp. However, your spawn point will be slightly different.

After you beat The Baron, you will now spawn on the Star Crux after every run.
After defeating The Baron, players will spawn on the Star Crux after ending a run.

Once you arrive, you’ll land on the Star Crux. If you look closely, there are two gems in the pattern, a green and yellow one. Accessing the green gem allows you to set modifiers for Act 1. You can enhance the difficulty and obtain higher quality loot. However accessing the yellow one will set the Endless Desert as the locale of your next run. You can also freely switch back to Act 1 if you wish at no penalty. Whichever gem is highlighted by a light beam, indicates where your next run will take place.

Conclusion

As you can see, accessing Act 2 in Death Must Die is fairly straightforward. However defeating The Baron can prove challenging. The reward for his defeat is more than worth it. The new area is a challenge in its own right, but the rewards are top notch. So far, Death Must Die is building up to be a strong game, and I am greatly looking forward to Act 3.

Good luck on all your runs!
